How Ultrasonic Metering Works

Ultrasonic metering in meters revolves around transmitting ultrasonic waves through medium (water). The system comprises two transducers: a sender and a receiver. Positioned externally on the pipe, these ultrasonic waves traverse through the medium and echo back to the receiving transducer. The elapsed time between transmission and reception is employed to determine the meters’s flow rate. This high-precision method abstains from any internal mechanical parts, underscoring its non-intrusive essence.
